​I'm a professional electrician. I've used this on everything from 480V (death is almost guaranteed if someone is shocked) all the way down to 12V AC systems. It works wonders! It's much more sensitive than my coworkers' inductive testers, and it seems more durable than many others too. The only thing that has broken in a year of use is the pocket clip that I used on a tool bag, rather than a normal pocket. Due to the beep, I can often lean it on a wire, go down the hall to the panel, and shut off breakers until I hear the beeping stop, saving me time and trips back and forth. I love this little tester!

​As holiday season is reaching I wanted to buy a voltage tester and I found the right one. This has got an audible as well as visual alert which is good. Depending on how close you are it will show the level in the indicator. It also got small flash light which can be used if you are in dark place.

It came with batteries so you are good to go as soon as you get the item.

​I was putting in a Ring Doorbell and had to change out the old transformer in my attic. The breaker box wasn't labeled for everything so I flipped the breakers until the light in the attic went out. Since I had just gotten this voltage tester, this was a good opportunity to test it. I held the tester near the old transformer and it lit up brightly. I had to go back to the breakers and flip more until I found it. I got back in the attic and held it over the transformer again and it didn't light up at all so it was safe for me to disconnect and replace the transformer. It was very easy to use with one hand. I'm glad I bought it and recommend it to anyone working on their home wiring.

​I did a little DIY home electric work. I was a bit hesitant because, well, I don't want to electrocute myself. Every video I watched said to confirm wires were safe by using a voltage detector. It works perfectly fine. It even came with AAA batteries installed. Switch on and you can set sensitivity which worked great. I could even trace lines in the wall to see how they were run. I pointed at the transformer outside my house and it started beeping "Hi-Voltage" and turned red. Pretty neat. I safely installed breakers and some new wiring to some 220/240V Appliances. Was very proud of myself that I did it all safely and correctly. Don't know how often I'll use this, but for the price it can stay in my toolbox.

​I got this because i need to change out a couple light sockets in my basement and i my circuit breaker is all the way up stairs and i didn't want to risk not having the power off before i changed them out. It has an audible as well as visual alert which is good. It also hot a high and low setting and a the front light up if your in a dark space. high setting is for lower voltage stuff which sounds backwards but when its on high setting it starts going off when your like a foot away. High setting is great for like Cell phone chargers and USB cords to see if you are getting power thru them or if there is an issue somewhere else. Overall good product.

​I keep a couple of this type tester in my electrical tool box . the other uses the round batteries which to me are overpriced so one that uses 3xa batteries was what I was looking for so , works well and the battery type sold me .
